I know, the subject line reads "Counting by 5's", not Rachel talking about baseball. Every morning during morning meeting/calendar time, we practice counting by 5's and 10's and eventually (hopefully) this will lead to some money skills for my kiddos!
Most of my students need lots of visual cues <<oooooh homerun!!!!!!>>>>>... where was I?? Visual cues! My kiddos really benefit from them! I have made a counting by 5 binder and a counting by 10 binder. I use the binders like a flip book and hold them in my lap so the kiddos can see. I always put the sheets in sheet protectors too, because I let the kiddos use them for a resource! Here is what each page looks like:

It's crazy with IEPS and Re-Evals and everything else right now, but I'll try to be better!!!!

Counting by 5s is so key for money! We play a game in my class where we pass a ball around and count by 5s.

I LOVE this idea!!!! I teach severe and profoud, but could still use the notebook and the voice output devices for the students to count along with the activity!
