I'm sure you've seen them, I know you want one!!! I know I love mine!!! The Easi Speak!!!!
Now what is this Easi Speak, you speak of Rachel??? Well it's a wonderful product made byLearning Resources! Here's how they describe it:
Fun-and-easy wireless recorder encourages even reluctant students to speak up! Just one button to record, then simply play back and listen (up to 4 hours of audio). Extended uses across the curriculum—oral language, fluency, phonics, speech therapy, intervention, math facts, podcasts and more. Built-in USB to charge via your computer and download (PC, Mac). Upload student-created files (WAV or MP3) to digital portfolios for authentic assessment, or share with other educators or parents. Integrated speaker offers quality playback for instant self-assessment. Headphone jack for quiet listening.
The Easi Speak, in my opinion, is an awesome tool for the classroom! It is super kid friendly and super teacher friendly, ideal!!! It does not take batteries, so important because we never have any!!
I think you all know that I am a special education teacher, and I found the Easi Speak to be a super tool to operate! It was kid friendly and a child does not have to be able to "read" to use it, simple, colored buttons. My kiddos with poor fine motor skills could grasp the Easi Speak because it was fat and not fragile at all. It even comes with a "necklace" to make sure it stays on if dropped. This could also be used if someone couldn't grip at all.
We've used this several times so far, we did a TON of phonics activities on it. The kiddos would say a letter sound, listen, see if it's correct and discuss what to do next. We practiced reading sight words on it. We even practiced reading with inflection to hear how we read, the kiddos loved this!
Want your very own Easi Speak? You can get one here!!! How?? Easy.
