Green Eggs and Ham!!!

We kicked off the month of March and Dr. Suess mania with Green Eggs and Ham.  My plan is to do a book each day... prob for a little while, we'll see how it goes.

Today we did our regular morning routine and than moved into Suess-Mania!!!!  I explained why we would be doing all sorts of Suessy things and on we went.

We listened to Green Eggs and Ham....

I reminded the kiddos to listen for rhyming words!  We talked about the words that rhymed and broke into centers.  I divided the class in half for centers, 4 and 4.  I only had 9 kiddos today and one does not participate in centers.

The first half headed to the kitchen!

First we gathered supplies...

We looked at our recipe...
(it was made into book form)

We cooked!

We ate!

The other half of the class was doing a rhyming activity!

We cut our pieces apart and seperated them so we could see everything..

And matched pairs and glued them onto construction paper...

Towards the end of the day we completed a "review" of our cooking activity.

and listened to the book one more time.. (I'm doing a glyph on favorite books tomorrow and I wanted to make sure we knew it)...

Hope everyone had a great first day of March!!!

Did your students try the eggs? I have a hard time getting them to try normal looking food we've cooked...not sure what would happen if I made them try green eggs! lol
